Central Ohio Beekeepers Charitable Foundation is comprised of beekeepers who are deeply committed to bee sustainability and best practices applied to beekeeping. Our board of trustees are: Robert F. Bowers Jr. president: Medard Lutmerding, M.D., vice-president: Claudia Khourey-Bowers, Ph.D., secretary: Winifred J. Williams, treasurer: and Michael Hatter, trustee.
The newly formed 501 (c)(3) is the fund-raising counterpart to the Central Ohio Beekeepers Association (COBA). COBA provides hands-on beekeeping instruction and annually awards scholarships for youths to become beekeepers. Through the Foundation, we wish to expand our ability to provide more scholarships and grants to a wider base of individuals and groups wanting to keep bees.
The mission of Central Ohio Beekeepers Charitable Foundation is "Honey Bees for Life". The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes to provide funding and a variety of supportive, educational programming for the well-being of beekeepers and the general public through charitable giving.
